Foot Surgeon Jonathan Larholt & Clinics

Mr Jonathan Larholt is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon (foot surgeon) who has been working within the NHS since 1997. He commenced his podiatric surgical training in 2000 at West Middlesex University Hospital and was awarded the Osteotec Scholarship in 2005 and his Fellowship to the College of Podiatric Surgery (FCPodS) in 2006. He then began his Registrar training and worked towards obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training which was awarded in 2011. During his Registrar training he was attached to two hospitals, Ilkestone Community Hospital (Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust 2007-2008) and the Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Kent (Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust 2008-2016). Throughout his Registrar training, in Kent, he was mentored by Podiatric and Orthopaedic consultants. This provided him with invaluable knowledge and skills in managing a range of foot and ankle pathology.

Mr Larholt holds an NHS Consultancy position with Central London Community Healthcare Trust (Charing Cross & Edgware Hospital). He has undertaken additional training in minimally invasive surgery and utilises modern investigative and surgical techniques to provide consistent outcomes and quicker recoveries, thereby allowing for a faster return to both social and work activities. He firmly believes in working with the patient, providing them with information and options about their treatment, both non-surgical and surgical, allowing the patient to play a key role in their treatment. He has a special interest in forefoot reconstructive surgery including bunions and arthritic big toe joints as well as tendon pathology including the Achilles tendon and tibialis posterior tendon dysfunction leading to an Adult Acquired Flat Foot Deformity.

Mr Larholt takes an active role in the education of surgical trainees as well as Podiatrists, Physiotherapists and GPs. He has published and regularly presents both locally and nationally.

Podiatric Surgeons, complete a degree in Podiatry, BSc (Hons) MChS, and following this the podiatrist can specialise in several areas of podiatry including routine care, diabetes, rheumatology, biomechanics and surgery. A small percentage of podiatrists undertake the long and rigorous training to obtain their Fellowship of the College of Podiatric Surgeons (FCPodS). Podiatric surgeons should not be confused with Orthopaedic surgeons. Podiatric Surgeons are registered with the Health Care Professional Council.
